Days of Sjenica Pie 2026 – flavors of tradition and the largest Sjenica pie

Sjenica will once again be filled with the aroma of homemade pies, tradition, and hospitality on August 13, 2026. The event "Days of Sjenica Pie" brings together housewives, lovers of traditional cuisine, folklore ensembles, and visitors eager to discover the authentic flavors of the Pešter plateau.

This year's program features a special endeavor – the joint preparation of the largest Sjenica pie and an attempt to break records. Visitors can expect an exhibition of various types of pies, music from tamburitza players, and an International Folklore Festival throughout the day.

This year's program lasts all day:

From 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM – we are making the largest Sjenica pie

Housewives and participants will jointly prepare the largest Sjenica pie, aiming to break previous records.

This will not only be a gastronomic endeavor but also a symbol of community, skill, and the tradition that has been passed down through generations from mothers and grandmothers to daughters and granddaughters.

From 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM – pie exhibition

During this part of the program, various types of Sjenica pies will be exhibited. Visitors will be able to see the richness of flavors, shapes, and old recipes characteristic of Sjenica and the Pešter plateau all in one place.

Tamburitza players throughout the event

The event will be accompanied by tamburitza players, providing music, socializing, and a cheerful atmosphere throughout the day.

At 8:00 PM – International Folklore Festival

The evening program is reserved for the International Folklore Festival. Folklore ensembles will present traditional dances, costumes, and music, showcasing how our cultural heritage connects us and preserves the identity of different regions.

Applications for housewives to prepare pies

Housewives who wish to participate in the preparation and presentation of pies can apply at the Sjenica Tourist Organization offices.
