Where is the Molitva viewpoint located?

The Molitva viewpoint is situated on the Molitva hill, at an altitude of 1,247 meters, near the village of Družiniće, in the municipality of Sjenica. From the well-maintained wooden platform, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the deep canyon, steep limestone cliffs, and the famous meanders of Uvac.

The canyon area is a natural habitat for the griffon vulture, so these magnificent birds can often be seen soaring above the viewpoint.

If you are lucky, during your visit, you might see these majestic birds circling above the canyon.Белоглави супови у природном станишту на литицама кањона Увца

Is the road to the Molitva viewpoint paved?

The road coming from the direction of Nova Varoš, Sjenica, or Ivanjica to the parking at the Molitva viewpoint is paved.

The problem arises because certain navigations and older maps still direct visitors to the former gravel approach. As a result, some guests mistakenly turn left below the Ethno Village Vidikovac and take the old, uneven road.

Do not follow that road.

Most important instruction: continue straight at the Ethno Village Vidikovac

If you are using Google Maps or another navigation system, remember this simple rule:

At the Ethno Village Vidikovac, do not turn left onto the old gravel road. Continue straight on the asphalt.

If you are coming from the direction of Ivanjica, the navigation may direct you off the main road onto the old gravel path, offering a quicker route to your destination. Ignore that turn and continue straight for about two kilometers to the roundabout. At the roundabout, turn right onto the paved road that leads gently uphill.

Drive carefully and follow the paved road until it ends. When you reach the parking area and the tree with the sign "Only at the top do you see the purpose," you will know you are in the right place.

From that sign, the path continues as a walking trail to the viewpoint.

From the parking to the Molitva viewpoint

You will leave your car in the designated area at the end of the paved road. Next to the parking, there is a tree with a wooden sign that reads:molitva.webp Drveni putokaz kod parkinga za vidikovac Molitva

"Only at the top do you see the purpose."

This sign marks the beginning of the final part of the path to the viewpoint. From here, you will continue on foot along the trail through nature.

The 400-meter trail leads over open, rocky terrain and through an area characteristic of the Pešter Plateau and the Uvac canyon. Follow the clearly defined path that leads to the plateau and the wooden platform.

Even during the walk, the first views of the canyon appear, but the real sight awaits you only when you reach the top.

What to expect at the viewpoint?

At the end of the trail, you will arrive at the well-maintained plateau and wooden platform of the Molitva viewpoint. From here, you can see the meanders of Uvac, the high limestone cliffs, and the green water winding through the canyon.

Depending on the season and water levels, the appearance of the meanders may change, but the size of the canyon and the view from Molitva always leave a strong impression.

The viewpoint is especially appealing to nature lovers, photographers, couples, families, and anyone who wants to pause for a moment, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the silence.

When approaching the platform and taking photos, it is important to be cautious, respect the installed railing, and not get too close to the unprotected edges of the canyon.Kanjon i meandri Uvca sa vidikovca Molitva
